New Plants at Hampton Court
Here are some of the new varieties of plants from the nurseries introducted to us at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show 2007.
To start off we have two roses “Wild Rover” and “Chris Beardshaw”

“Wild Rover” is different to most because of the startling spicy perfume with distinct hint of cloves. The amethyst flowers are carried on a shrub about 4ft (1.2m) high but will grow a little taller with some support. From C&K Jones www.jonestherose.co.uk

“Chris Beardshaw” is pink and fragrant and the delicate flowers are carried singly or in small clusters above healthy glossy leaves.Of medium height this is a good bedding or border rose.A % of each sale is donated to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.C&K Jones www.jonestherose.co.uk .
Abelia “Kaleidoscope” and Geranium “Rosie”
![]()
Abelia “Kaleidoscope” there have been variegated abelias before but never anything quite as bright and dazzling as this.”Kaleidoscope” is compact evergreen and decked in yellow and green in spring, but as summer progresses the leaves take on tints of orange and red. Add a profusion of lightly scented white flowers and you have a wounderful plant for borders or containers.
Geranium “Rosie” One of the great things about geraniums is that if you grow a selection new varieties of seedlings are bound to turn up.That is what happened at Rosie’s Garden Plants where Jackie Aviolet grows a range of them. Her latest is a chance seedling of “geranium wallichianum” and is named after her nursery.”Rosie” has large pinkish flowers from grows 16in (40cm) high and spreads up to 3ft (90cm) across and makes great ground cover.Rosie’s Garden Plants www.rosiesgardenplants.biz
