Shrub Roses
The Pink Knock Out® Rose, Rosa 'RADcon' (PP15,070), is a vigorous shrub with dark pink buds and medium pink cup-shaped blossoms. It is a profuse bloomer. It is also as disease resistant as its parent, Knock Out. The Pink Knockout is crown hardy in zone 4 if mulched to ensure hardiness. It will also thrive in humid conditions. (CPBR #2044, C®) This rose has its own root. The advantage of own root roses is that once established they are very resilient. If winter's freezing breezes kill the top growth, the rose will grow back in the spring, and the recovered rose will look the same as the one you purchased.

Sunny Knock Out® Rose, Rosa 'RADsunny' (PPAF), produces abundant single 3 inch wide bright yellow flowers with 5 to 6 petals. This bushy, compact and rounded shrub has dark green semi-glossy foliage, resistant to black spot, powdery mildew and rust. More disease resistant that its famous parent and grows to 3 foot high and wide. No flower fragrance, but the petioles release a strong sweetbriar fragrance similar to Rainbow Knock Out®. Sunny Knock Out is easy to grow and adapts to most conditions. Prefers slightly acidic soils. It thrives in very humid climates where other roses have disease problems and need spray maintenance. Feed once a year with a slow release fertilizer.
Northern Accents Lena Rose, Rosa 'BAIlena', is a frilly pink blend, everblooming rose that grows 24-30 inches tall. Own Root. With recurrent blooming, this hardy shrub rose does not need to be cut down or covered for winter. In the spring, cut off whatever stems do not green up or trim to shape the bush. Easy Elegance® High Voltage, Rosa 'BAIage' (PPAF), is an electrifying shrub rose with flowers that are three to four inches in diameter. Charles Albanel Rose, Rosa 'Charles Albanel', is one of the smallest Explorers. This rose blooms with fragrant clusters of mauve-red flowers that recur throughout the season. A resilient rose that's resistant to disease, it has a vivid autumn display of orange-red fruit along with orange and yellow fall foliage. Promising results have been reported in zone 2. Own root. Charles Albanel is a low growing shrub that is perfect for banks or low hedges. It's a spreading plant with bright, green foliage and disease resistant. Its heady fragrance is greatly admired.
George Vancouver Rose, Rosa 'George Vancouver' (PP10,009), is an Explorer rose that explodes with an extraordinary number of flowers, borne in clusters of up to six, along rich green foliage with resistance to disease. The scalloped blooms begin as buds of deep red that open to fuchsia-red then finally soften to pink as the flowers fully unfurl. The fall display of red hips is just as impressive. Own root. A well foliated shrub, the George Vancouver is very hardy and healthy, upright, compact and spreading. It as good disease resistant foliage. A vigorous climber, it is moderately fragrant and a continuous bloomer.
Rainbow Knock Out® Rose, Rosa 'RADcor' (PP17,346), is as carefree and hardy as its parent, Knock Out®. This vigorous shrub has dark pink buds and bright, medium pink, cup-shaped blossoms that fade to a lighter shade. It is as tough as it is beautiful, and black spot resistant. More compact and floriferous than the earlier Knock Out® roses. Crown hardy to zone 4 when mulched to ensure hardiness. Own root. Rainbow Knock Out seems to be the best of the Knock Outs so far! It may not bloom the whole year in mild climates, but you can enjoy the lovely orange hips in the late fall and winter. 2007 AARS Winner. Use as hedge, a border, or as a foundation plant.
Easy Elegance® Kashmir, Easy Elegance® Kashmir, is an easy to grow, hardy shrub that features fantastic dark-red buds. The soft cashmere petals mature into a breathtaking rich hybrid tea bloom. With touches of velvet red new growth, the disease free foliage is a perfect accent for Kashmir's red wine colored flowers.
